It was another day where I have to think about a quick fix, or I didn’t feel like turning on my stove.
Fortunately, I had a Tuna potato mix stashed in the freezer and store-bought crinkle-cut fries. So all I need brown bread then. Ha, there it is.
All are available, waiting for me to start assembling it. I didn’t have to think twice then. It’s going to be a simple dinner but nice and filling.
Sorry about my picture; it is not great. I just didn’t get time to arrange it nicely. My daughter was starving, and my 1-year-old was too sleepy by then and obviously hungry and cranky.
And the toast burnt too, that was another incident. I was about to open the sandwich toaster, and my little boy pulled the drawer at the same time. So I rushed to his aid, and bread sat in the toaster longer than it should be.
When you make it, make it nicely, please 😊. Both things can be prepared at the same time, so that saves your time.
If you are looking for a Tuna-potato mix here, it is. It’s the same mix and follows steps 1–6.

Ingredients
brown bread or any choice of your like
Mayonnaise
Crinkle-cut fries
salt
1 teaspoon olive oil or melted cheese
Optional
Bowl of salad or fruits
Preparation
- Microwave the tuna-potato mixture for around 2–3 minutes.
- Meanwhile, preheat oven to 200°C (392°F) for around 5 minutes. This is based on my bosch oven settings. Usually, store-bought crinkle-cut fries come with oven instructions.
- In a baking tray, spread an aluminum foil or parchment paper. Place the fries. Don’t overcrowd it; give plenty of space. Bake the fries anytime around 20–30 minutes. I did this in 2 steps. Means I flipped the fries after 15 minutes.
- While the fries are in the baking process, mix the warm mixture with 1–2 tablespoon mayonnaise or up to your likeness. I don’t over-consume mayonnaise.
- Spread the mayonnaise mix on one bread and cover it with another piece. Toast in a sandwich toaster until it is done. Follow your toaster settings. Mine takes only around 1 minute for 2 sets of bread.
- If you like to please add cheese, other condiments, vegetables of your choice to the mix.
- Cut the toast in triangles and keep it aside. Cut it while it’s hot using a pizza cutter.
- Once the fries are baked, transfer it into a salad serving bowl. Sprinkle little oil or melted cheese of your choice on top. Toss it until it evenly spread.
- Sprinkle a little salt and toss it well.
- Enjoy toasted brown bread and baked crinkle-cut fries with a bowl of salad or fruits of your choice.
Notes
- Toasted bread can be stored in a refrigerator for 1–2 days. Either let it cool down at room temperature or microwave it. Refrigerated toasted bread will be a bit soggy.
- Fries are not recommended to store it hence please finish up, don’t waste food 👏.
